YOU'RE NOT ALONE SERVICES LLC

Brooklyn Learning Differences Advocacy and Consultation Services and Parent Support Network
Our Mission
Come on in, sit down and let us tell you about who we are and the purpose and mission of our "network"OUR MISSION There are many organizations that deal with ASD/Asperger's Syndrome, Sensory Integration and related Neurobiological Learning Disorders and IDDs, each with a specific purpose or goal. However our goal/mission is to reach, serve and network parents/caregivers in the local communities of Brooklyn where our children tend to "fall between the cracks" and we are "geographically challenged". No parent/caregiver should or needs to go through this journey alone and unguided. A big hurdle we as parents/caregivers have, is to find services and programs. While there are resources, many innovative diagnostic, therapeutic and academic intervention programs are outside of Brooklyn. For neurodiverse children/individuals like yours and mine who need the challenge of academics, exposure to and interaction with neurotypical peers, but need the benefit from the "extras" only available in specialized schools/programs, this can be daunting and a challenge. This can also pose a challenge for Neurodiverse individuals who need academic modifications but not the restriction of a self contained classroom/program in a special school or program. Our goal is to provide a place where parents/caregivers can come together to share resources to build a local directory, network, get information, find support and most importantly help bring awareness to our community. There are so many reasons why one should consider becoming part of an organization he or she believes in. We believe that by banding and working together, we CAN make change. By effective outreach, we hope to get our message out to a larger audience of people interested in similar issues.
Our Purpose
The purpose of this organization is trifold.
-
To help parents/caregivers navigate this journey by providing support, advocacy and consultations.
-
Help new Day Care/Preschool start-ups build a solid foundation.
-
To provide a bridge between parents and resources, a place where parents can come together to share, open avenues of support, increase community awareness and improve accessibility to resources for the needs of our incredibly unique children.
We hope to continue to add new members so we will be able to grow and expand. We also want to provide a social and supportive atmosphere when we
are together and working on projects. By developing relationships and
friendships, the organization will become even stronger. Remember..... the seed
of change can be planted by one, but it's a shared commitment and nurturing
that makes it grow! Together we can make a difference!
